Patient Record Extraction Network
PRE-Net is a cost effective, non-invasive method that enables your lab to get the most
recent patient demographics and insurance information available from the physicians office
management system, OMS. Once PRE-Net accesses that patient data, it can pass that information
to your front-end system, LIS system or your back-end billing system. These connections are made
using Halfpenny's software tools and utilizing internet access or dial-up modem connections.
The PRE-Net service also includes a back-end web service allowing a secure method of accessing
patient information after the order, for example, if the claim is rejected. Your billing
department can access the PRE-Net web site and upload or enter patient information needed from
the client's OMS, the services will then access the patient data in real-time, and bring that
information back to you in a printed manner or populate that data directly into your systems.
This eliminates the need for your billing customer service to call the physicians office and
saves everyone time and effort.
