Test Dictionary work involves adding or updating laboratory test information in a hospital or physician office laboratory computer. This includes all of the information needed in order to transmit orders and results between two different systems and/or entities.
An overview of the Test Dictionary Build process is described in the following steps:
- The laboratory performing the testing provides the Dictionary or file definition data that includes test codes, specimen collection instructions, containers, CPT4s, etc.
- The client will provide client specific data such as mnemonics, test codes, test descriptions, worksheets, billing codes, etc. as required by the client system.
- Once the data has been compiled and is reviewed by the client, Halfpenny Technologies enters the data manually or automatically via scripting into the client test environment.
- The client and/or our experienced medical technologists under the guidance of the client will perform interface validation testing to assure the interface is working properly.
- Tests are then built into the production environment.
