The HTTP connection utilizes the same type of connection that Web browsers establish with Web sites. Benefits of utilizing ITF-SecureConnect include:

• Acknowledgements supported using either HL7 LLP or HL7 MLLP
• Message queuing to ensure delivery despite intermittent Internet outages
• Advanced logging of transactions for audit purposes
• Facilitation of audit review and remote configuration
• Ability to load agents to existing or dedicated Windows servers or workstations

The most significant security benefit comes from the fact that all communications are initiated from the ITF-SecureConnect Agent to the ITF-SecureConnect Server. Per the HTTP protocol, the ITF-SecureConnect Agent accepts no unsolicited inbound traffic.
